BHC CEO TOURS PROJECTS

The Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Housing Corporation last week toured several projects that the Corporation is currently undertaking in Mahalapye and other surrounding villages. The tour coincided with the Public Officers Housing Initiative launch held as part of the Economic Stimulus Programme rollout in Machaneng over the weekend.
The tour started at the BHC Flowertown project where the CEO was appraised on the status of the infrastructure development which will soon be handed over to the Mahalapye Sub – District Council. Manager – Civil Engineering, Mr Oduetse Dihutso took the CEO through the Flowertown infrastructure development and explained some of the work that needed to be done in order to get it back to a state where it could be handed over to the council. The CEO also had an opportunity to appreciate the plot BHC has been awarded in Mahalapye located near the Botswana Police Service new headquarters.
 

Subsequent to this the CEO was taken on a tour of the ongoing SHHA Turnkey projects in Mahalapye, Palla Road, Mmutlane, Makwate and Chadibe. The tour was led by the Government Housing Initiatives Coordinator and Senior Building Inspector, Mr Modisaotsile Letsholo who explained that all projects were progressing well as most were about to be completed while some were delayed due to the fact they were awarded just before the close of year in 2015. The CEO’s entourage which comprised the Deputy CEO – Operations, Mr Nkaelang Matenge, two members of the Senior Leadership Team, Middle managers and building inspectors has an opportunity to visit the Public Officers Housing Initiative project in Machaneng which was started recently. The project comprises 25 houses some of which are at brick work stage while some are at the foundation level. The Minister of Lands and Housing, Honourable, Prince Maele was also appraised on the POHI project in Machaneng and had an opportunity to appreciate it before being launched by his Excellency the President of the Republic of Botswana, Lieutenant General Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama.
