The Corporation recently hosted men’s wellness session for the BHC male employees in the Northern Region. Held within the warmly and welcoming precincts of Selepa Hotel in Francistown, the event saw a magnificent turnout from the BHC Northern region male employees.

Officiating at the event, the BHC Human Resource Manager, Mr Sekgele Ramahobo stated that the Corporation recognises the significance of healthy lifestyles as the key solution for a productive workforce. He highlighted that the occasion is intended to bring together male employees to a relaxed get-together in order to deliberate on common issues distressing men and share life experiences.

Mr Ramahobo pleaded with the BHC men to take their health and wellness issues seriously in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle which will add value to the performance of the Corporation. He stated that the Corporation has an unmatched commitment towards promoting good health for its employees adding that employees should make use of the initiatives.

Following the official opening that called for a healthy lifestyle, the same approach to sound health was reinforced by the motivational speaker of the day, Mr Oageng Olebetse. He advised employees to stay away from Multiple Concurrent Partners (MCP) in order to protect their families and leave a stress free life. He highlighted that MCP is a national problem which continues to escalate the rate of HIV/AIDS infections. “MCP does not only lead to HIV/AIDS infections, it also leads to stress which tends to affect work and put families in danger,” Orelebe said.

Another motivational speaker, Ms Onnalenna Manthe who is a Health Promotion Consultant had the opportunity to teach employees about healthy eating and healthy living. After several hours of interactive presentations, employees enjoyed music and drinks.
