MINIMAL LAND SERVICES AND TURNKEY HOUSES FOR KANYE

In consonance with the government’s efforts to stimulate the national economy, the Ministry of Lands and Housing has of recent launched several projects aimed at speeding up land servicing and housing provision in various places across the country.

The latest to be unveiled is a minimal land servicing and housing development project in Kanye-Mheelo Ward, which was done by the MLH Minister, Hon Prince Maele.

According to the Minister, “A total of 68 SHHA Turnkey projects in the Southern District, of which Kanye North has a total of 27 projects. Mheelo ward in Kanye North has 21 housing projects which are all on going at various stages of construction.”

The 68 SHHA Turnkey Housing Projects have been awarded to 13 local contractors.

Minimal Land Servicing in Southern District will be restricted to bush clearing, spot improvement and drainage improvement and prepaid stand pipes where necessary.

The total number of requests for minimal servicing layout across various locations in Ngwaketse covers 17,685 plots of which 10,123 have been funded through ESP. Out of the 10,123 that have been funded 3458 are in Mheelo alone.
