MINISTERS SERETSE & OLOPENG TOUR BHC TONOTA HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS

The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Hon. Vincent T. Seretse and the Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Hon. Thapelo Olopeng who is also Member of Parliament for Tonota toured the ongoing BHC Housing Development in Tonota East. 
 
The purpose of the tour was to familiarize the two Ministers with the project progress and appreciate the challenges.The project which consists of six stand alone two beds low income houses and two blocks of three storey flats with two beds complete with modern furnishes. The project which is being undertaken by Construction Civils Africa (PTY) Ltd is done at a cost of P12.2 Million and will be completed towards the end of 2019.
 
When giving a brief about the Project, the Chief Executive Officer, Reginald Motswaiso said that the Corporation was prompted to build in Tonota due to acute shortage of accommodation in the village especially among civil servants. He said that upon completion the houses will be sold to interested Batswana and Government Departments in need of accommodation for their staff.
In his remarks the Area MP, Hon. Olopeng thanked Minister Seretse and BHC for seeing the need to develop in Tonota staying that there is still a huge demand for accommodation in Tonota and land is available for such therefore BHC is more than welcome to start additional units in Tonota. 
 
For his part Minister Seretse said that it is important for his Ministry to pay a courtesy call on authorities where the Corporation has projects to appreciate progress and the challenges with projects so that they are expedited and completed on time for the benefit of Batswana.
