BHC BOARD TOURS ONGOING PROJECTS IN THE NORTHERN REGION

On Thursday June 3, 2021, members of the BHC Board were taken on a tour of ongoing projects in the Northern Region. The purpose of the tour was to appreciate progress on the ground as well as appreciate the challenges experienced. The tour kicked off in Palapye at the 150 flats which are currently being constructed to address shortage of accommodation in the area. The three storey flats comprise two and three beds modern units and are envisaged to be completed in September 2021. The entourage also visited another ongoing third party project comprising a Record Centre which is being done on behalf of Government.

The tour went further North to the village of Tonota where the Corporation is currently developing 18 dwelling units, six low income stand alone units and two blocks of three storey flats comprising 12 units which will also help ease off shortage of accommodation in the village. The project is almost complete save for the flats and infrastructure connection which is expected to be completed soon before occupation.

The entourage was lead by the Acting CEO of Botswana Housing Corporation, Ms Pascaline Sefawe. Dignitaries included, the BHC Board Chairperson, Ms. Sithabile Mathe, Deputy Board Chairperson Mr. Bennett Maifala Board Members Mr Chilisana Marobela and Mr. Bareng Malatsi. They were also accompanied by members of the Corporation’s Senior Leadership Team and Project Management Team.
