Bobonong Community Remain Hopeful Over Projected BHC Development in the Village
The Corporation recently consulted with Bobonong village leadership and the community over the layout design of the 11.6 Ha land allocated to BHC at Dandane Ward, Phase 1 area.
Speaking during this meeting, the BHC Selibe Phikwe Area Office Manager, Mr Tiroyaone Mafoko told the gathering that the essence of the meeting was to present the layout design of the land and to share with the residents how the Corporation has sustainably demarcated this land to aid development of the envisaged housing and associated infrastructure.
When taking the audience through the presentation of the layout design, BHc Senior Land Resource Officer, Mr. Kopo Maradung pointed out that before the design process was started a site reconnaissance was carried out to capture critical factors influencing design such as the existing infrastructures and other physical environment factors forming attributes of the site.
He further went on to highlight that sustainable land use planning was used as a guiding principle to gain more out of the parcel of the land and highly considering impacts that are detrimental to the environment.
Lastly, he shared that the proposed layout yielded a total of hundred and eight plots (108) with eighty (80) of them proposed to be for Low-Cost Housing, fourteen (14) of them Medium Cost Housing, Seven (7) High-Cost Housing and two (2) High density Housing. One (1) civic and community plot for an early childhood and care facility and seven (7) open spaces to support social and recreational activities were further provided.
In closing, Kgosi Loso of Sehena ward expressed his gratitude pointing out that the developments are more than welcome in the village. He said this symbolizes a significant growth for their village and a resolute aid to the dire need of accommodation for public servants.
He urged BHC to fulfill their plans and utilize the land while they wait in utmost anticipation for such a huge breakthrough.
